Five minutes ago I was about to post a false claim that I have the Hungarian sausages from the 70s and the 80s in my possession. But then I remembered I’m an Atheist. It would be beneath me to imitate the likes of Tb Joshua by making false claims in order to take advantage of my African brother.

I have another story relating to change of taste over time.

When I was younger, I refused to eat mbeba (field mice). I even laughed at my friends who ate the mbeba.

Today some 22 years later I am quaffing down them mbeba like fanta. I tell ya

Mr. Mister,

Lest you think I am making fun of you, let me share my personal testimony.

For about 10 years or so I was chasing a beauty known as milk biscuit. I tore open dozens and dozens of biscuit wrappers but to no avail. The milk biscuit from my youth was one elusive son of a gun.

Until one day I gave up the chase. And I'm a happier man for it.

Mr. Mister,

Here is another scientific fact.

Human tastebuds evolve as one ages.

One of the commonest examples are sweets or candy. For most of us, when we are young we think candy is the greatest food on earth. Some thirty years later our brains process the information sent from our tastebuds quite differently.

So mister, it is quite possible that you are on a wild goose chase. It is all in your head, mister.

Mr Mulenga sir

Let me begin by stating that I never tasted the Hungarian sausage from the time period you outlined. It was before the sperm of my father and the egg of my mother were introduced to one another.

However I can tell you this. One of the reasons certain foods have changed taste over time is because science has since discovered some ingredients in the earlier foods were not suitable for human consumption. Too unhealthy or in some cases even carcinogenic.

Dear Zambia,
I have been searching for a hungarian sausage that tastes like the Zambian hungarian sausage of the 70's and 80's. It had a taste of its own. So far the hungarian sausages that i have tasted, and believe me i have tasted a number, are nowhere near the original one that used to be sold. What has happened ???
I am willing to buy on special order any hungarian sausage made from that good old recipe and tastes like it!!!!!
Regards
