General Roadworks/Traffic

Postby Prethi Singh » 9th October 2010, 14:26

Dear Zambia,

Surely as a nation we are making some headway? Although more often NOT it seems.
Our roads are in shambles and so overcrowded, yet buses/cars can have a problem and park in the centre of that lane???
Knowing that all the cars behind them are now blocked as they have caused a bottleneck.
Can we not be considerate and ensure the vehicle is off the road so other motorists are not effected?
It would be great to have this kind of simple logic applied on a daily basis!

Another thing is roadworks seem to just suddenly occur can we not have signage and this kind of information in the press so people are aware and can go a different route.
There is no doubt that it is required however proper planning would ensure the job is completed faster and other people are not inconvenienced!

Dear Prethi,
add to all that, we have 'march pasts' on a main road for some fund raising event or other. this creates huge traffic problems and to add insult to injury...along comes some marcher with a donation box! they create traffic, waste my fuel and time and then expect me to pay for it?!
