Dear A4 and Fem,

On the Copperbelt, Gerabos have adopted driving around town with fog lights as a fad. On the other hand, am sure you will have noticed that the very latest luxury cars now come with LED lights that come on the moment you switch on your engine. In some countries in the west (eg Finland, Norway, Sweden), it is required that one drives with lights on even during daytime. The reason I d imagine is because of their extreme weather patterns which cloud visibility. Even in Zambia, driving with fog lights on on the highway is quite a good thing I d say. i ve personally seen that when I have lights on I have fewer or no incidences of people overtaking from the other direction as am approaching them. Indeed research has shown that driving with some form of (not parking lol!) lights during the day does significantly alert other road users and consequently reduce motor accidents.

Yours
