Fake spray painters

Postby Wana » 7th July 2010, 15:50

Dear Zambia,

Most spray painting services in Zambia are terrible. I bought a Toyota Corolla and had it spray painted by a place somewhere in Thornpark (cannot remember the name of the place). Within three months, the paint started cracking and forming bubbles. I later discovered this is very common in Zambia and seems to be caused by people not baking the car in an oven after spray painting it.

The good spray painting companies like Metallic Motors are rather expensive. There is nothing in between. You either have cheap but bad service or good and expensive. I wonder why it is like this in Zambia over many things.

Dear colleagues. Let us not use this channel to fight one another or use our strengths to judge others. It is uncalled for to think corolla cars are cheap and dare someone to buy an expensive car. We all have different priorities. Yes cheap is expensive and Wana should be advised to go for quality spray paint but he cant be forced to buy an expensive car because we dont know his bank balance and prioirities. Let us be real....

Ba Mwisho
My understanding is that the purpose of this forum is inter-alia to provide information to Zambians that will help them make wise decisions concerning:
1. Where they should take their vehicles for various services, by sharing real life experiences (good and bad) that one has had with a car service provider.
2. To render positive and objective advice to others who don’t know what one knows about particular car services and/or problems.
3. How they should deal with particular car problems
(Administrator, please correct me if I my understanding is wrong)

I am a subscriber to similar forum based in South Africa and I have found it to be very helpful indeed and I was very happy when I saw that some patriotic Zambians have established our very own Zambian-bred forum for Zambians, similar to the one done by South Africans. I really commend whoever is behind the establishment of this forum and I know that if used properly, it can be very beneficial indeed to Zambia.
Please Ba Mwisho, let us not use this forum for purposes other than those for which it was intended, such as to ridicule Zambians who may not have as much money as some of us have. It does not do any Zambian any good to pour scorn on an asset that he/she acquired with his/her hard-earned money. I am sure you are old enough to know that we all cannot be and are not rich. We will always have the poor, middle class and the rich among us, as is the case all over the world.
Please Zambia let us through this forum show the world that we are good people who love and are helpful with each other and are mature enough to use this forum for our good This forum is for our benefit and we must guard it jealously.
Administrator, I would be obliged if you would be kind enough to advise us the purpose of this forum and how it is supposed to be used e.g. What kind of material should we post or not post on it...etc.
Thank you

Ba Mwisho, It is very well that you own the Toyota Hilux 2008 model, but don't use this forum to belittle those who cannot afford the same. Let us be mature.

Ok lets talk now.
Let him try the boys on Panganani Road, they are good.its just that its done on the "street" and people have always had this notion that watever is done on the street isnt good enough NO.Just be around when they strip, beat and repaint your car! They can do a good job at reasonable & negotiable price.

Ba M,

Its good to hear you talk nicely and offering solutions. The boys on that street do a good job and i can assure you that most of them are trained and experienced former employees of Garages that pay peanuts.

Just try them. The place is commonly known as Strife....Be careful i must add in selecting who you trust with your car ...There are a lot of those who run around soliciting for jobs when they see you drive by, avoid them by all means..They might not know anything....The real panel beaters will be sitted basking and waiting for those guys(pimps) to hook up jobs.

yeah ,its true most if not all of those guys used to work for garages formally but got tired of getting masese.I also like the way they work, like bees,a group "attacks" your car and in no time, its done.they work together so that they finish a job quickly so that they move to another job so that they make as plenty bucks in a day as possible!

Ba Mwisho we do still appreciate you and your comments despite your "split personality". It's good to see your latest comments; wear the latter personality more than the former, completely do away with the former if you can please.
Long live Mwisho!!
Thanks for the advice, most of us could use. Muleke chabe fwaka ai?

Ba Mwisho

After reading through this, i am positive that it wasnt you that pasted those unholy websites i came accross. Please people do not masquarade and use othe poeple's e names. Balalowa ka!!!

Indeed the uncle has given the brother in agony a good alternative to spray his car. Please also visit a place called VMS Motors if you havent already ventured to Panganani Road. VMS Motors are in the same road as CFAO if my memory serves me right but you have to drive further on that road. My brother used them for spraying and rubberising his panel, it was reasonable and the quality was excellent.

Ba Mwisho if you havent rubberised your panel you too can visit them.
