BRING FAMOUS ARTISTS TO ZAMBIA.

Postby Nameless. » 4th September 2011, 12:22

Dear Zambia,
I was thinking, why dont we have really famous people performing here? Justin Bieber is gonna perform in south africa, why cant we have him perform here? Not only Justin Bieber but other artists too. Like Beyonce. She can come here, perform in a concert, maybe checkout the victoria falls and who knows? She might tell her friends about zambia and they might come too. Maybe more tourists would be coming to see the victoria falls. And zambia would develop that way right? Isnt there some kind of way to contacts artists and bring them here? What do you think? :)) x
you think? :)) x

It's very expensive to invite big artists. you need a very big crowd who can afford very expensive tickets. that's why Bieber is in RSA and not say, Zimbabwe.

In an odd sort of way, I'm glad to see no famous celebrities lounging around in Zambia. If I saw any one of the mentioned people (Justin Berber, Bouncy, etc etc), I would be sad at how shallow Zambians have become. But these people's absence from Zambia gives me hope that perhaps Zambia is one of the last frontiers in the world of people with depth of mind.

Bizman,

Our 'poor' sanction-affected brothers south of the border in Harare just successfully hosted L'il Kim, Timbaland, Fat Joe and Ciara. Not to mention they recently also had Akon & Sean Paul there. But us? We have Fally Ipupa!

Msasa,

Sorry to break your bubble, but if you haven't noticed, we may not be able to attract big name artists, but we have MTV! So depth of mind? I hardly think so. Everyday we have more and more young goons wearing their pants on their knees...

You have a small point. A very very tiny point but a point nonetheless.

Do you remember that Michael Jackson also died in 2009? What goes around comes around. Or as the good book the bible says, do not defecate on God’s chosen people the Africans or else death will find you and put you six feet under.

zambians and their victoria falls and copper. what and where would we be if we didnt have these? been to vic falls a couple of times. it's nice the first two days then thereafter you see the real unkempt and scruffiness of what zambia is. tourists come here out of curiosity and a sense of adventure but have you seen their niagra falls in the US? beautiful place. if beyonce came to perform here, where would she do it? mulungushi conference hall? you gots to be kidding. or is it the barclays sports club ground?

Boris,

there you go again beating down your own country and glorifying the USA. Now imagine 10 million Zambians with your same mentality. Do you reckon Zambia can progress that way?

i love this country and there are a million positive things to be thankful for and proud of but there are just some things that disturb me about our nation. we have no one but ourselves to blame 4 the miserable state of affairs we are in and i tend to think the system here is somewhat designed to stifle real progress. i live in my own house i built, i drive a decent ride and can afford to eat more than three meals a day at any day of the month but the squalour around me is hard to ignore

boris,
good for you, mate! Although if you would like some advice from a fellow 3 meals+ chubby man like myself, please ease up on the snacks and the morning sausages. Soon enough, your belly will become a permanent obstruction between your eyes and your toes. You can even step in cow manure and not know about it because you never see your feet. I kid you not. Just because you can afford too much food should not mean that you should consume it all.

Its really a sad thing to believe that over 45 years after independence, we still have that ram shackle called Lusaka International Airport, Roads are poor. How do you expect insfrastructure development when the government in power just thinks of roads in an election year? There is a curse in Zambia. Look at Jburg, Cape Town, East London, Port Elizabert, Durban....How did they manage to put up such beautiful infrastructure? Shame on our politicians. The airport in East London is far much better than ours in Lusaka, yet East London is not even a provincial capital of the Eastern Cape

Very interesting observations from ba Check na ba Muntu and ba Uthando. And not to forget my fellow fatso Boris.

ba Muntu you gave me quite a chuckle. ati kasitima mu airport. ha! I know exactly what you mean. Some of those western airports are just ridiculously fancy and confusing. You can get lost and if you are not lucky, you get picked up by the airport cops for acting suspiciously. In this post 9-11 era, if they catch you on camera looking dazed, that's it. You are a terrorist.

But this is what I don't get about our beloved Zambia. I was just reading a pot in another thread about how Zambia has become a country of big time players. How Zambia used to be a country of corollas but not it is saturated with range rovers, Beemers and other high end vehicles. How so many Zambians are living large. Yes indeed, I have seen evidence of this myself. So if individual Zambians have managed to increase their personal wealth, why doesn't it seem to translate to the nation as a whole? Why is there so much decay in the nation's infrastructure? Have we become a nation of plunderers where each man for himself and damn the nation?

Postby NVA Management » 15th January 2012, 19:00

Hi everyone,

Please permit me to introduce our company, NVA Holdings, which is a UK based company which specialises in sports, music, TV & Film MGT & Brand Marketing/Consultancy. NVA Holdings comprises of companies that all operate in the sports, music, entertainment, fashion, TV, film and youth brand markets. Our group includes

NVA Entertainment Group
2NV Records( our independent music label and music consultancy unit)
2NV Promo
Next Generation TV & Film
NVA Retail
NVA Leisure
40/40 London( a top end restaurant and club with Jay-Z and Ashley Cole)

We have been a notable figure in the entertainment and sports scene helping to establish the careers of some music acts and we have also built an enviable roster of the creme de la creme of top sports personalities like Robinho, Rio Ferdinand etc. We have also moved on to promote the UK shows of global acts such as P Diddy, Usher, Lil’ Wayne, Mario and Destiny’s Child through 2NV Marketing and Promotions. Since then, 2NV Marketing and Promotions have worked with a variety of clients including Coca-Cola, BlackBerry, Sony PlayStation, Mars and Rock and Republic.

On this occasion, we are hoping to execute a host of projects in Zambia which would by all means add extra value to the lives of the youths of Zambia and the country in general.

The projects range from
i) the possibility of bringing some internationally renowned football teams for a pre season tour in Zambia
ii) the possibility of Zambia hosting a major boxing fight where it stands to gain at least $400 million from sale of promotion and broadcast rights
iii) the bringing of a high profile celebrity or sports personality in order to boost tourism as well as drive investment opportunities
iv) some selected charity organisations focused on the youths would be empowered as we believe the youths should have an infrastructure on which they could build on
v) the introduction of some business opportunities on behalf of our clients

We are hoping to secure an audience with the key authorities in the government of Zambia as regards discussing the possibility of these hugely beneficial projects and we are hoping you could help us in this regard. Zambia stands a lot to gain as it would be the main focus of the world during the projects as well as printing its name in the history books. May I also add that there would be the provision of jobs, tourism boost, high drive in international investment and also giving the youths an infrastructure on which they could build on.

We are hoping to hear from you should you need more information or clarification as there are loads of opportunities that abound.

Best Regards,

Achilles Ogu
