If I volunteer to be your sidekick in this little adventure, are you going to buy me a case of beer?

Interesting how any topic in Zambia, no matter what it is, eventually finds its way to beer

For the benefit of those of us who live here in the remote areas of the Zambia rural areas, can you please explain what these RC helicopters and planes are? I'm only curious because I know that it's just a matter of time until I escape this rural area, headed for the line of rail. And if these RC helicopters are the talk of the town when I get there I want to be able to speak intelligently on the subject.

Thank you sir.

the boonies, I like the way you write...simple but eloquent

but don't get too excited coz... (spoiler alert) rc planes/drones/helicopters are simply REMOTE CONTROLLED planes (hence rc)

I must admit they can be pretty fun in an open field every once in a while...there's a wide range of selection..some are only ten bucks for instance while others are 10K.. I got one for my son's 10th birthday, he played with it lots the first couple of weeks, not any more

so ba the boonies, when you get to the end of the line of rail and you hear some young ones talking about rc helicopters, just walk past them and go get a mango leaf, cut it in shape, get a dry elephant grass and a wire and make your own helicopter, and you'll be the rc. I did that as a boy in my lovely beautiful village and it was lots of fun!

mukolwe my friend, thank you for the kind words and for that bit of education. Armed with this information I now feel readier than ever to face life on the line of rail.

Remote controlled planes. hmm. Who knew? the only thing I associated with the word remote is right here where I live. Remote rural area.
