22-21=1,

I have so much respect for KK. Forget about how detrimental the white hank was during is time. There is so much to him than what we know. One memorable thing is seeing him meeting Martin King Luther Jr....and he was shown sat side by side with that man American even dreads to hear his name.

Airborne,
Sometimes men do many things during their life time but are remembered for only one thing. There was a congressman who died in the US in recent years. I cannot remember his name. What I remember is that this man had worked for almost thirty years fighting for Black people's causes. But when he died, many remembered that in 1964 he voted against the civil rights bill. That was the single most important bill for Blacks in America, after the emancipation proclamation. And this man voted against it. It didn't matter what good deeds he did after that.

The one thing I remember Kaunda for is that he took a country that had so much economic potential and he ruined it. I cannot forgive him for that. This is my opinion. I'm not pretending to state a fact.

Danny boy, let's do a small experiment. Take your fist and knock on the side of your head. Don't tell me the sound you but let me guess and then you can tell me if I'm right. You hear the same sound an empty tin makes. Am I right? Now do you see just how good I am at these things? I told you!

20 FACTS ABOUT HINDUISM

Postby Sanskrit » 9th December 2015, 19:08

1. Hinduism is the oldest known religion in the world. In fact, it goes back as far as 5,000-10,000 B.C.

2. There is no known founder or governing body of Hinduism.

3. “Hinduism” is not the real word for the religion. That was made up by Greeks and Arabs to those living by the Sindhu river. The real name for Hinduism is Sanatana Dharma. This means “eternal dharma”, or eternal truth.

4. Hindus believe the purpose of life is to attain self-realization, or enlightenment.

5. Hinduism is the 3rd largest religion in the world, with over a billion followers.

6. Hindus believe there is only one unmanifested, eternal reality that can be found through enlightenment. This one reality has taken on the form of everything we see today- including gods and goddesses. So even though they worship many gods, in reality it’s a monotheistic religion.

7. Dharma (righteousness), Artha (means of money), Kama (right desire), and Moksha (salvation), make up the 4 main life-goals of Hinduism.

8. The major books of Hinduism are: the Vedas, Ramayana, Bhagavad Gita, 18 Puranas, and Mahabharata.

9. The most common language for Hindu scriptures is Sanskrit- the oldest language in the world.

10. Hinduism strongly encourages a vegetarian diet- something that many Hindus follow. However, many practitioners in India simply omit beef and pork from their diet, and follow vegetarian guidelines on auspicious days.

11. Hindus believe in reincarnation- the soul is immortal, but takes on the form of many bodies until they achieve enlightenment.

12. The Rig Veda is the oldest known book in the world.

13. The Vedas were preserved for over 5,000 years without the use of printing. This was done by memorization!

14. The ideas of decimals and many other complex math equations were created by Hindus.

15. Om is considered to be the subtle sound of the universe, and can be heard in deep meditation.

16. The supreme divine spirit is considered to be both male and female.

17. Yoga, Pranayama, Meditation, Vastu, Jyotish, Tantra, Astrology are huge contributions to the world, and have become extremely popular in the west…often influencing many different aspects of culture- fashion, diet, lifestyle, and spirituality.

18. The Kumbhamela, a spiritual gathering of all types every 3 years, is the largest gathering of human beings in the world.

19. There are three major sects in Hinduism: Shaiva, Shakti, and Vaishnava. But these are not strict; a follower can practice multiple paths because they’re so similar.

20. Hinduism accepts the idea that anyone in any religion can attain salvation/enlightenment through perseverance, devotion, and personal experience in deep prayer or meditation. Instead of closing off to many religions, they have opened themselves up to it.

Hinduism would have been one of the greatest religion had them Hindus not been so wacko about the cow and the eating of beef. I can have a very intelligent conversation with a Hindu until the topic of beef comes up. That's the only time you realize, this man is out of his freaking mind. damn them Hindus with their damn cow fixation
