Its called the rule of law.If the constitution says that RB cannot stand as a presidential candidate because of his parentage, then the MMD have no choice but to look for another candidate.We cannot be having different laws being applied to different classes of society.

people we talking politics here, to be frank none of these guys gives a clear policy on how they will run this country. wait for elections to pass all these projects will end. some of these politicians we only hear them when it is election time. i dont think it will be normal for any aspiring candidate to go into the political arena and announce that i am standing because i want that or this person to win. popularity matters as politics is about numbers.

@eric,

What law is there in Zambia? We have political parites campaigning on grounds that their president helped free FTJ from his corruption cases. Is this really gaining political mileage or have they just incriminated themselves?

are we saying the issue of parentage has just been included in the laws of zambia??? please!!! Sata has known RB for donkey years- they were together in UNIP. so he either has known where RB's parents came from all these years and helped hide that fact, or he has just come up with this brainwave to delay the process because he is not ready to lose again.

Viva HH!!! young, brilliant, energetic, Zambian chap. knows modern economic trends too and we wont be embarassed sending him to share podiums with (fellow) young leaders - Cameron, Obama and the like.
