Okay ba Guest, you have been to the US. Now we know. he he he.

Just messing with you my dear. I decided to use the same line on you that has been used on me many times, if I so much as mention any country abroad.

Like when I mentioned that I bought my first car, a 1985 Ford escort from a London junkyard, I was accused of kulibonesha because I'm the UK.

You do know that pro active is just witch hazel dressed up in a bottle and worth ten times more. Don't buy pro active because its nothing but just a cheap product thats readily available that is branded differently to make it appear as if its worth it. A bottle of witch hazel 100ml costs £3/$4.5 dollars and who knows inn kwacha

You speak with authority on this subject. And I for one believe you. I will go ahead and assume that you managed to conquer your own pimple problem with cheap witch hazel. Look at you! Good for you!!

Shalapungu.
thanks for the witch-hazel tip. i googled it and seems its on the level.

with these skin treatments, sometimes i think its not a one size fits all - you may have to kiss a lot of toads before you meet your prince . do you know if any of our zambia shops stock this? otherwise i will try and hoard some on my next trip to the US.

sometimes it seems like your skin works with one product and then suddenly goes back to its usual self. this could also be attributed to the fact that you pay more attention to the skin at the beginning with a product and then you start slacking back to your normal routine - especially for guys. so your system should not be attention heavy; it should preferably fit in your daily routine.

Guys dont want to spend any more than 10 minutes in front of the mirror so these proactiv solutions are not ideal for them.

on the overall, i found that just using a good mosturizer lotion helps your skin a few miles. just apply it as a normal lotion in the morning and afternoon.

Best.

Guest,

Any dermatologist worth her buns will tell you that ALL complexion creams have side-effects. Short or long term. The most common is the scarring of the skin tissue whereby most women experience the opposite of the desired effect. Namely, the darkening of the skin. It could take many years, but eventually it will catch up with you.

I don’t even understand why African women pursue these complexion lightening creams. Why do you think they say Black is beautiful? Because it is. Please excuse my one-track mind but for me every time I see a very dark complexioned woman, I can’t help myself but fantasize about how succulently sweet it would be to lick her extra dark labia. Mmm mmm.

If I may please speak plainly, smooth and silky doesn’t cut it for me. I do not find it sexy at all! For the simple fact that when I jump in bed with a woman, I want to go at it like animals do. Not delicately. Hence my attraction to natural beauty. Hairy armpits, sun beaten skin, cracks in the feet, the whole shebang. And absolutely no perfumes. No, no and no! I like to smell that natural heat emanating from every orifice. It's true many times I lament the misfortune of being born in the wrong century. I should have been a caveman. The real deal.

I only speak for myself here. I’m not trying to write no sex gospel.

I once had acne prone skin and decided to use proactive when it first came on the market. It never worked for me! My acne just disappeared on its own later in life. I guess my hormones were just in overdrive then. :)

1-wash face with acne cream, then with lime or lemon juice(I have lime juice at the moment)2-putting egg weiths on for 10-15 minuets3-putting a mix of mix 3 tablespoons of honey with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon on as a spot treatment, and washing off in the morning4-in the morning, rubbing fresh garlic on pimples5-using cleanser again7-putting ice on pimples that do not have a head yetWashing and dabbing acne with cotton balls that have been soaked in vinegar in morning or nightusing a face mask made of oats and waterusing sugar to scrub face when I wash my face, at least once a dayusing a baking soda-water mix to rub into face gently for 10-15 seconds then removing and patting dry with a clean clothgiving myself a weekly facial by mixing a yolk of an egg with two tablespoons of milk and half a tablespoon of honey. Apply this on your face and leave it on for about fifteen minutes. Then wash with lukewarm water. If you're out in the sun a lot, milk mixed with melted butter helps soften the dry skin.and using lemon juice(when we get some) to reduce freckles.I only want to know if using this many things(and I wouldn't do all of them, I just haven't decided which to use yet) will be harmful to my skin, or will back fire. Thxand heard that toothpaste helps, if left on a pimple over night?

I'm a female, all my acne disappeared during pregnancy after using many products all my life till I was 27, so i guess one option is to look for a remedy with hormones involved in pregnancy...... All I know is all these washes and creams rarely work since the problem is inside not outside. Greasy diets, lack of water and even stress worsen acne too. Scrubbing the skin dry only makes the body fight back and produce more fat/oil leading to more acne. One product that worked for a friend in conjunction with diet change was Gallia but hormonal supplements were also part of the prescription from a dermatologist.... Good luck.
Dear Zambia,I know this is meant for services, but I would like people who have managed to control their acne successfully to help me. I don't want to hear too many details - there is enough of that online. Just tell me whether you are male or female (if you want) what you are using that has WORKED FOR YOU and for HOW LONG. No stories of what did not work please. Maybe there is somebody out there with my skin type who has harped on something that works. It would also be nice if what you are using is accessible - so please say where you get your product if any.
I hope that is not asking too much. J
Dears Ms Janice and Mr Brown,

QUE: Does toothpaste get rid of pimples?
The answer to this question is: it depends. Some toothpastes contain ingredients which can help get rid of pimples, while others do not, and in some cases they can actually irritate the skin. Given that there are numerous other acne remedies available, toothpaste should really only be viewed as a last resort. It also usually requires an overnight treatment to work effectively, so don't depend on toothpaste for emergent zit crises.

There are two ways in which toothpaste can work to get rid of pimples. In the first sense, toothpaste can act like a mask, drawing impurities out of the skin; it may also dry the skin slightly as it does so, which can reduce the size of a pimple. In addition, some toothpastes contain menthol or alcohol, two compounds which can dry the skin, although they can make your skin too dry, which is not desired.

If you want to use toothpaste to get rid of pimples, look for a true toothpaste, not a gel, and if you can, find one with minimal additives. Natural or organic toothpastes are a good bet, since they usually have a short ingredient list. Apply a small dab to the acne spot in question, leave it on overnight, and rinse in the morning. Your mileage may vary, depending on the toothpaste, your skin type, and the pimple.

If you want to get rid of pimples, there are a number of home remedies as well as over the counter medications which can help; if you have a severe case which has developed into acne, you may want to consult a doctor for stronger medications. Avoid popping pimples, no matter how tempting it is, because you can actually make the situation worse by causing a deep infection. If a pimple gets truly upsetting for you, head to a cosmetician who specializes in extractions; he or she has received special training in handling pimples, blackheads, and other blemishes. A dermatologist may also be willing to pop it for you.

Some home remedies to get rid of pimples include aspirin, which can be ground into a paste with water and applied overnight, as well as applications of lime or lemon juice and potato wedges. Over the counter medications can also be used to target trouble spots. More importantly, keep your face clean and grease-free, and use water based moisturizers for your skin care to help avoid the development of pimples in the first place.
