I hope peace can return to DRC. For goodness’ sake!

Dear Zambia,

I’m no Congolese. I’m Zambian. of course.

Anyhow, I just heard it on the wire. I have a massive radio antenna here in my village on the north western border of the Chadiza district of the Eastern Province.

I heard that the opposition candidate in the DRC presidential election, a fat man named Felix Tshisekedi has been declared the winner of the elections.

This Felix chap is of course as rotten as most African heads of state. I’m just excited by the fact that an opposition chap beat a ruling party chap.

Kaunda gave Zambia that euphoria in 1991 when he gracefully bowed out after losing to kafupi. I hate Kaunda for his dictatorship (that dumb bastard) but I give him credit for not being a bitch after defeat.

In this case with DRC, I’m hoping that the supposed transition of power will mean peace in that shit hole and also that we here in Zambia can get rid of the Congolese refugees
