I cannot eat nsima with knife and fork. I just can't

Dear Zambia,

I cut the tip of my index right finger today. It is quite a deep cut. Ironically, I cut the finger when I was in the process of cutting off the head of the chicken I'd be salivating over supper. I have a bandage over the wound. My wife told me I have to eat the nsima with a knife and fork. So I looked at her and told her to look at me and then I asked her, do I look crazy to you? What kind of man eats nsima with a knife and fork?

Anyways, long story short. It now seems I'm crazy because I did not have any other choice but to eat my nsima with a knife and fork. The cut was bleeding profusely when I tried to take the bandage off. It's a thin line between sanity and insanity.

I have now decided I cannot eat nsima with a knife and fork. Until my cut heals, I will be forced to eat spaghetti and other unmentionables. Just so I do not have to eat nsima with a knife and fork. A man has to stand his ground
