Zambia's biggest accomplishment is what we never did

Postby hope » 20th January 2016, 01:41

Dear Zambia,

Yes you guessed right. Civil war. Nigeria, Angola, Mozambique, Liberia, Sierra Leon, Rwanda, Burundi, Somalia, Sudan, need-I-say-more. But thanks to our docile nature, our propensity to run and hide when confronted and our preoccupation with boozing and adultery, civil war has eluded us. Which is not a bad thing at all.

Have you ever seen drunkards fighting? Let alone chop each other's heads off with machetes? No way. We drink so we can forget our problems. No time for civil war. And don't tell me it was dictator Kaunda who kept the peace. That big headed bastard silenced anyone who disagreed with him. No it was not chi Kaunda. Civil war is a stranger to us Zambians because half our lives we are drunk. That's the key.
