I went to Umoyo some time this 2013 (a month ago) and I have to say that the behaviour of the staff hasn't changed one single bit since this complaint was first expressed in 2011 by Dissapointed. I was making an enquiry about the price of a product when a sales person rudely told me that the prices were displayed underneath. As the saying goes, "it's not what you say, but how you say it that counts." So, put off by the way the sales lady had responded to my enquiry, I asked her "if it was a problem for me to ask from her." She did not respond at that. suffice it to say, that the staff are stuck up for nothing and need some customer care training. Exactly who is that store intended for if not the ordinary Zambian people?? If it is mean't for white people then they established it in the wrong country, because the majority of us are black. I do not expect them to behave like that to anyone at all considering they are still happy to have your money.

De,
You and me both. I was in Umoyo on November 5, 2013. I very politely asked one of the cashiers if she could break a K50 note for me. She rudely asked me why I needed to break "such a small amount" as she put it. I told her that I realluy didn't have time to explain as the prostitute I just screwed is waiting for me outside and she wants to get paid. And that's when the cashier called the manager and some bouncers came and threw me out of the store. Such rude people those Umoyo bastards.

THis umuyo health shop is a scam ,are zambians really that gullible to be spending money snake oil type remedies. Some of the stuff they sellin their is ridiculous and not even medically backed . When i walked in there i found a salt lamp a well known con and asked what it does. The girl in there proceeded to give me the worst sales pitch about how negativity ions electrons chase away bad moods and evil , All this time I had to keep a straight face on without bursting into violent laughter. I think I willopen my own shop and start selling the african potato and say it cures moods

Zambians forever stuck on stupid.

What does it mean to be a sales lady or a sales assistant? Do those ladies know their job?

1. A customer is always right
2. You are request to smile and be polite to a customer.
3. You are to be trained in the way to handle customers, angry, kind and rude ones etc.

That is your job, you choose a sales or retail career or happened to land there so DO YOUR JOB!!!!
I suspect Anti-Politics is one of the ladies in the store and am sad to think that i have actually recommend people to that store.

The same people you are insulting are paying your salaries.
And Kim has no brains to send someone to check her staff and pretend to be a client so she can score how they are working?
Or is she making so much money that shes lost her mind and forgotten the business that feeds her?

Disgusting!!!!

Dear Zambia,

I think the rude Sales Lady has not even been fired, but sent to Woodlands Shopping Mall. The lady there is so Rude (beginning with her facial expression). Then she does not want the Customer to inquire on any product on the shelves; its more like 'if you don't know it, then don't buy it'.

I think Kim could do better to train her staff; or better still employ better caliber!

To think that Kim hasn't even responded to any of our Complaints since 2011........she must be cut from the same cloth!

no we are not required to pay for things we accidentally break in a shop you sue them for that. but i had the same incident in shoptrite i got yogurt and put it in the trolly but it accidentally dropped down and the lid cam out and the yogurt spilt down, when i reach the till the lady asked about it and she was very polite 100% saying you cant pay for this and you are not suppose to sir, do you need to replace this broken one you can go and get i will wait for you, i just said no thanks its fine then she kept it away. thats why customer must be treated. so you anti-politics, thug mannered or whatever you call yourself its not about college, school or abroad thing, if you are educated my dear then you are and no one can take that way from you. thats even the the main reason why zambian businesses do not grow because of poor customer service, what they forget is that if am treated well i will recomend that shop to 100 or more people which in turn increases the business customer base. more customer base, more revenue and profit. more profit and better salaries for our good zambian and trained sales reps.

umoyo train you workers for better business.

Mrs. Jero

That nice lady at Shoprite must be well educated and must also have spent some time abroad, yes?

When I say abroad of course I do not mean China, Russia, the East European countries or the Islamic world. I mean the abroad abroad, not the fake abroad
