Election date- Does it matter

Dear Zambia,

Soon Zambia should be going to the polls though it's a pity no one knows the exact date, month, week nor hour when this is gonna happen. Does it matter?
People are anxious about this year's forth coming general elections, are you one of those who are bothered for the late date announcement, well, lets talk about it.

Here is ma suggestion
If the election date is announced early enough, it gives room for people to prepare themselves psychologically and to be well equipped in advance. Looking at the time of year we are in and also were we are heading to, the rain season is just a stone throw away from today and casting our votes in this season would be a big time hell. Long distances from polling stations may cause a number of people not to exercise their right to vote due to heavy down pours and this may result in a low turn up of voting and who knows, the right candidate may just miss his chance due to such.

The Bible says "no man knows the hour" when the end of the world will come, "except the Father."

Our presidents have a God-complex, as you know.

Rain doesn't stop us from visiting the bar, why should be a hindrance on election day?

It's almost 20 years now since we were led to believe true democracy had finally come to Zambia. And yet here we are 20 years later, still wallowing in these same stupid undemocratic games. The problem with MMD is that it is saturated with crooks of every kind. Pity that. Pity this country.

True that Malolo. Problem is even the opposition is, to play with Sata's words, infested with crooks. Example; the self righteous Chishimba Kambwili recently illegally fired his workers and deducted their salaries by 35%. This from a man who is mouthing off about the plight of Zambian miners at Chinese run mines. Then we have GBM, the womanising wife beater. Only 2, but crooks nonetheless. To conclude, elections and the election date are just nothing more than a waste of time and money! We will have to look up to the same useless leaders, just different faces.

There is a "donchi kubeba" syndrome in our system, which has affected everyone. So election date will come by all means, but donchi kubeba .....it doesn't matter.

Date or NO DATE the thing is we have already made up our minds to who will be our president come September...whether people like it or not the date shall be announced and that day shall indeed come. Its just a matter of time. Even if the date is pushed to NEXT YEAR...that date will still come.

For the benefit of those of us who are slow in the head, can you please explain what "donchi kubeba" means?

I almost started thinking that there's a donkey in there but then I said to myself, why the hell would Sly be complaining about an ass?
