Before buying make sure to get VIN number, Engine number and registration numbers. If you can, do your own checks on the history of the car with these numbers.
In the UK we can verify mileage, previous owners, outstanding finance, accident damage etc before the mechanical inspection and test drive.
Lots of vehicle exporters in UK and Japan advertise cars they don't even have in stock, using 'library' pictures and will instead ship a cheap trade-in scruffy miler of the same age and colour as the car you think you are buying. Service history and previous MOT certificates get 'lost' and the new owner receives something very different than they ordered.
Best source of cars is from the home market , which we buy our own cars from, rather than export only... London Motor Traders ltd
