Why has there been no military coup in Southern Africa?

Dear Zambia,

There are several theories why military coups are so common on the northern half of the African continent and yet they are virtually unheard of down here to the south.

One theory is that we Bantu people of the South tend to be more docile. We can tolerate far more abuse from our political leaders than our northern hemisphere African cousins

If docility is good then we Zambians are winners. Otherwise we are big lazy losers.
