CHIEF Justice Ernest Sakala has said the late retired Supreme Court judge Peter Chitengi has left an indelible print on the justice system in Zambia that will be difficult to erase even by his critics.
During a Valedictory address at the joint memorial service for the late judge Chitengi at the Supreme Court, Justice Sakala said judge Chitengi was a perfect and fully skilled judge, who diffused professional tensions with humour and a smile.
Justice Sakala said the late judge Chitengi, who retired in March this year, was his ally in the administration of justice in the country.
“We have gathered here this morning, at this Joint Valedictory Session of the Supreme Court and High Court, with broken and pained hearts to bid farewell to and in memory of a distinguished Judicial Administrator and Judicial luminary,” Justice Sakala said.
“The late Hon. Mr. Justice Chitengi was a good-natured person with an affable personality.
