Chishala shames doom-sayers-MMD spokesperson

THE MMD has commended its Chipata-based member Chilufya Chishala for shaming people it has described as ‘feeble-minded’ who allegedly wanted to reduce the just-ended Eastern Province party conference to a tribal contest.
MMD spokesperson Dora Siliya said in an interview in Lusaka on January 10 Mr Chishala demonstrated rare qualities of leadership by withdrawing his candidature for the position of provincial chairman during the conference.
Ms Siliya described Mr Chishala as a staunch, long-standing member of the MMD who will play an important role in mobilising new members as the country heads towards this year’s tripartite elections.
Mr Chishala had earlier announced he was going to challenge incumbent Kennedy Zulu, and had mounted a spirited campaign for the position, but withdrew shortly before the elections that ushered in a new executive committee.
