THE MMD second extra-ordinary convention yesterday closed with President Rupiah Banda warning “traitors” and those found leaking information from National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings of stiff punishment.

The president also pledged to work hard to deliver what the party aspires for and make it victorious during this year’s tripartite elections.

He warned the newly-elected NEC members against leaking deliberations to the public and the Press.

Addressing delegates at the close of the convention at Mulungushi Rock of Authority in Kabwe yesterday, Mr Banda said this was the time for the party to move forward in unity to gain the electoral victory and continue to serve the people.

“I will work very hard to deliver what our party aspires for but I will need everyone’s total support in this task,” he said.

Mr Banda said members found leaking confidential information would be expelled from the party.
