President Banda to commission Lusaka road rehabilitation

Lusaka, May 27, 2011, ZANIS-President Rupiah Banda is tomorrow expected to commission the rehabilitation works on the selected Lusaka urban roads. The commissioning of the rehabilitation programme will take place in Mandevu Township in Lusaka.
President Banda is also expected to launch the Zambia Electricity Supply Corporation’s (ZESCO) deferred capital contribution scheme and the free installation of solar powered geysers.
Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations Dickson Jere disclosed this in a statement to ZANIS in Lusaka today.
Mr. Jere said President Banda’s government has embarked on a programme to rehabilitate key urban roads in various parts of Zambia where roads have for many years been in a state of disrepair. He said under the programme, more than 500 kilometers of roads will be rehabilitated in Lusaka, Central and Copperbelt Provinces.
