Vice-President Kunda commends farmers for bumper harvest

Serenje, August 15, 2011-ZANIS—Vice President George Kunda has praised farmers across the country for a maize bumper harvest the country has recorded for a second successive season. Mr. Kunda said the Government of President Rupiah Banda will continue its support to farmers through the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) so that they can continue producing more food.
ZANIS reports that the Vice president George Kunda said this when he addressed a public rally at Kapeshi primary School in Serenje on Monday.
He said the MMD government, if voted into office will continue to rehabilitate roads so as to allow for easy transportation of the agricultural produce.
Mr. Kunda told the people of Kapeshi that the MMD has done a lot and hence the need to vote for the party’s candidates in this years’ election for continued national development.
“Once voted back as MP for Muchinga Constituency, I would ensure that health facilities are provided for the people of Kapeshi.
