German production house to shoot movie at Victoria falls

Lusaka, ZANIS-A renowned German film company is in October expected to begin production of a movie highlighting Zambia’s vast tourism potential. Save our Nature Media Chairman Thilo Rothkirch told journalists in Lusaka today that the 3 million Euro movie will be filmed at the Victoria Falls in Livingstone and other tourist locations.
ZANIS reports that Mr. Rothkirch stated that his company will be the first international production house to shoot a movie at the famous Victoria Falls.
He said once completed, the movie will attract tourists from various parts of the world to visit Zambia and sample the country’s rich tourism potential.
He added that the movie whose working title is “Kadu’s journey” will include about 50 local actors and will be completed by the middle of next year.
Speaking earlier, Zambia Tourist Board (ZTB) Managing Director Felix Chaila said movies and documentaries play a critical role in marketing Zambia’s tourism.
