Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) has said that they are have concerns about whether a proper coram was formed at the National Assembly when the invocation of article 31’s approval was done. In a statement to the media, LAZ president Linda Kasonde, said that since action has been brought before the court to determine the issue, LAZ is unable to comment further. However, the LAZ statement noted that Government has no powers to extend the threatened state of emergency beyond the 3 months approved by Parliament.
