Some Journalists have been barred from covering proceedings regarding a case in which incarcerated opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) President Hakainde Hichilema and 5 other persons, are accused of treason. Journalists from the Agence France-Presse (AFP), Bloomberg, British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC),  Reuters among others have not been accredited to cover Hakainde Hichilema and 5 others treason trial which starts on Monday, 14th August, 2017. The judiciary has decided to accredit journalists from media houses who are interested in covering the court session on Monday.
