200 soldiers back from tour of duty

A CONTINGENT of 200 Zambian soldiers who were on a United Nations (UN) peacekeeping operation in the Central African Republic has returned home after a one-year tour of duty.

Zambia Army chief of operations and training William Sikazwe was on hand to welcome the soldiers, who touched down at 22:00 hours at Zambia Air Force (ZAF) Lusaka base on Wednesday.
In a speech read by Sikazwe, Zambia Army Commander Paul Mihova commended the troops for their exemplary performance during their tour of duty which he attributed to the comprehensive basic training and upgrading of military courses they undergo.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
