US Senate Doubles Effort To Compel DRC Leader Kabila To Leave Office


American lawmakers are stepping up the push to compel Democratic Republic of Congo President Joseph Kabila to respect his country’s constitution by leaving office as the constitution dictates and overseeing a free, fair and democratic transfer of power. Leading the US mission is influential senator Cory Booker and his counterpart Jeff Flake. Booker and Flake has since succeeded in securing the support of both Democrats and Republics to secure legislation that will give the US legitimate ground to push for President Kabila’s exit.
