Chipata man gets 5yrs for possessing live pangolins


The Chipata Magistrate Court has meted out a five years imprisonment with hard labor to a 34 years old man who was convicted for the crime of Unlawful Possession of live pangolins. David Phiri, was arrested and taken to Court by officers from the Department of National Parks and Wildlife, who found him with two live Pangolins concealed in a bag in Chipata. And in Kitwe, the Subordinate Court convicted and sentenced four men to five years imprisonment with hard labor for Unlawful Possession of Prescribed Trophy, namely one crocodile skin.
