Govt To Allow CEC, ZESCO And KCM To Handle Their Issues


Government says it will allow the Copperbelt Energy Corporation (CEC) to resolve its outstanding issues with Konkola Copper Mine and ZESCO. Speaking after he met CEC Management, Finance Minister Dr. Bwalya Ng’andu who is leading a delegation of other Ministers said despite government being an interested party, it will not interfere in ongoing negotiations. Dr Ng’andu said the delegation of Ministers met management at CEC to discuss its unresolved issues with Konkola Copper Mine which involves unpaid bills of $132 million after supply of electricity.
