A NDOLA man has been sentenced to five years imprisonment with hard labour after he pleaded guilty to sharing a video via WhatsApp alleging that the Government had taken a number of people to South Africa to train them on how to rig the 2021 general elections.
Owen Kamasumba, 38, of Mitengo in Ndola was charged with seditious practices.
Kamasumba was convicted upon his own admission when the matter came up before Ndola Magistrate Changa Chitabo.
He was accused of sharing a voice note and video clip in a seditious manner on February 23, this year.
The clip, shared on a WhatsApp group called ‘Zambia beyond politics’ claimed he and others were taken to South Africa and were trained in rigging techniques.
